Silk is an amazing prop in yoga. It allows us to take our bodies to places that’d be challenging or impossible to access without it. It is an excellent prop for both restorative&yin yoga as well as to power yoga. Each time you practise is a unique journey. The body will not be the same after a practise. And when the physiology changes, the mind will equally change.
What you are likely to experience…
Connective tissues need to be elastic for the muscles to be able to move freely. Injuries, aging, sitting for hours, all create adhesions that block the traffic of nutrition and energy through the body. This causes pain, decreased mobility and diseases.Aerial yoga is excellent for strengthening core muscles and increasing spinal, shoulder, and hip area mobility.
Tissues lengthen and get more elastic. Joints love the pull movement. Aerial yoga leaves similar feeling to the body as a massage does.
Body awareness & love
Aerial yoga is a journey to within, allowing you to observe the body, mind and breathe. You begin to understand the complexity of the body, and how releasing and healing circulation, organs and muscles and joints affect to the body and the mind.
Yin yoga heals you. The poses activates the parasymphatetic nervous system, calming the mind. You’ll experience acceptance and compassion towards yourself. This is the base for transformation.
Releasing old junk
Our bodies holds emotions, memories, beliefs and thoughts. Holding poses will take you to new areas and allow the breath access new areas that need it the most. Yin yoga teaches us to be patient and acceptive. Yin yoga is a great way to release old ‘junk’ to the surface and witness them with no judgement.
Calm mind & stress release
Yin yoga can take you to a meditative state. The mind calms down, allowing you to see and think clearly.
